About this event
Doug Mellinger '89 shares his insights in this virtual conversation about entrepreneurship, building successful businesses, and the role of capital in helping companies grow. In the 1980s, Doug challenged the traditional academic model and successfully created his own degree program in Entrepreneurial Science at Syracuse University, helped build the Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs, and founded the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. His visionary thinking demonstrated a commitment to connecting and empowering entrepreneurs long before entrepreneurship education became commonplace on college campuses.
Doug founded and led PRT Group, growing the software development company from a $12,000 startup into a business generating $85 million in sales. He also founded and led enherent, a global software development and services company, and co-founded Foundation Source, which provides technology and outsourced services to private foundations. After serving as a managing director at Palm Ventures, Doug joined Clarion Capital Partners in 2013, where he serves as Managing Director and Head of Marketing, with responsibility for sourcing and investor relations.
