About this event
“The Pride of the Orange: 125 Years of the SU Marching Band” is an exhibition exploring and celebrating the history and traditions of the Syracuse University Marching Band. From its founding in 1901 with 23 members to the “100 Members and a Girl” in the 40s, to the present day band of around 200 members, the band has represented Syracuse on the football field, around town, and at national and international events and venues. This exhibition engages with the music and visuals that make such performances possible through archival imagery, records, objects and personal anecdotes. We hope you come and celebrate 125 years of Syracuse University Marching Band pride. The exhibition will be on view Sept. 25-Nov. 7. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
